First let me thank everyone who helped make AENA’s Hot Topics in the Emergency Room a success.

I can remember attending the last Hot Topics conference (which was 2 years ago) and there only being about 15 people in attendance.  At this year’s conference we had an astonishing 64 attendees.  We had representation from many hospitals.  We even had a number of students in attendance as well.  The speakers were fantastic and the vendors were very supportive.  Bryan Cruz and Kelli Modesette, two fellows of the Specialty Nurses Accelerated Program, presented poster presentations of their Best Practice.  After each presentation, the attendees were talking to the presenters and even requesting their presentation.  I have included some of the presentations below.  I am happy to announce that with the generosity of the vendors, we were able to raise almost $200 for the Gastelum Scholarship fund.  Attendees were able to make a donation by purchasing a ticket giving them a chance to win a $150 gift basket full of goodies, a Starbucks gift basket, a Pandora Radio, a gift card to Barnes and Noble, and a gift card to Macaroni Grill.  We were even able to give away a dinner for four to Olive Garden as a door prize.  Congratulations to all the winners!!!

For those of you who wanted copies of speakers presentation, here are a few.  Just click on the title to download their presentation.
